Understanding Website Pricing

200px-Project-triangle.svg When it comes to website pricing, one of the most common questions we get is how much do you charge per hour. Unfortunately this is the wrong question. If it were coupled with how good are you or how much can you get done in an hour and how well will it meet my needs, it might be a slightly better question.

What you should really be asking is what is the cost-benefit profile for the website you are planning.

If someone charges 3 times what the person down the street who just decided to call himself a web designer because he took 3 classes at the local adult school, but they accomplish 10 times as much per hour and their work results in a 30% increase in your income the first year then what is the actuall cost?
